[Fashion] Pretty Printed - Brights and Black Leather

Hiç yorum yok

Bag:

Shoes:

Elastic Waist Faux Leather Shorts:

Printed Top:

I've been going pretty minimal (for me) on the accessories lately. I just haven't been wanting to deal with the added weight and noise of an arm party and what not. Today I just went with earrings from House of Harlow - I had others that played up the more tropical aspects of this top but chose to keep it simple with the black leather accents because I felt like a brighter color would still look okay - nice for pictures but kind of too much for regular life. (Sometimes when I get too matchy matchy with large accessories I feel like the Chiquita Banana lady lol.)

My top is from the Prabal Gurung for Target collection, the only thing I purchased from the line. (BTW this top is SUPER itchy to me on top around the neck. H&M had a similarly cut top last year and it was way more comfortable! Also I am wearing an XS for reference) I was definitely tardy to the party on this one (and typically any special release collection lol) but I'm okay with it. The only things I would have wanted to scoop up were the SHOESSS - of course. Butttttttttt I was afraid the quality might not be that great and there was nothing I saw that was so different where I couldn't find it in another brand. : \ (lol #tryingtobeokaywithnotgettingtheshoes)

Which brings me to my, often favorite part, THE SHOES! I purchased these from Zara a few days ago and I love them! They are currently sold out online because I believe they have been out for a while but luckily my local Zara usually has a 37 in stock randomly. They are decently comfortable for what they are but not really something I would consider a walking long distances shoe. It was fine for me out and about to brunch and what not though. (Today was my first day wearing them) I love the look! Classic, simple and sexy.

The faux leather shorts with elastic waist are also from Zara and were under $40. I couldn't find them on the website but I purchased them a couple days ago so they should still be in stores : ) I love the elastic waist and pocket detail! Although these can add a little bulk to the look they are super comfortable and just kind of cool : ) They are also a looser fit and come down a little longer in the back so although they look short I dont feel like my butt is falling out of the back or anything. (I purchased a size M for reference.)

Lastly I am wearing the same Alexander Wang Rocco handbag again so sorry if you are sick of seeing it - just went so perfectly with this outfit I couldn't resist! I love both the Rocco and Rockie (this is the one I have - HERE) for those of you wondering how I feel about the bags. (I've been getting a lot of questions on it.) As far as the weight I don't have a problem with it personally. If you watch my "What's in my Bag" Video you'll see that I don't typically carry too much but I would say this is not an every day bag for those heavy packers out there!

---------

Woot woooooot! Two outfit posts in a row : )
I'm excited! Can't wait till Steve has time to help me take some real pictures of my outfits (at this point I am still relying on screen grabs from video footage -__-) but hopefully you guys are still enjoying the posts none the less.

Thanks so much for reading!

Talk to you soon,
Holly

Alexander Wang Rocco in Acid

Today's Outfit of the Day is simple but with some fun color pops.
As you can see I am loving the lemony lime hues (also HERE) - I think it's always a great color to ring in SPRING!

The Breakdown:

The Alexander Wang Rocco in Acid I purchased in October as a birthday gift to myself and I am finally able to start taking it out more!

Manolo Blahnik Suede BB Point Toe Pumps are an absolute classic and one of my all time favorite shoes. The Suede BB is THE most comfortable pointed toe pump I've ever owned and they come in a ton of colors! (I wish I could collect 'em all!)

These Lime Green ones are a new release for SS2013 - also come in Orange (Here

I plan on doing a separate post on these pumps where I will go into more detail about sizing, comfort, wear, etc. So be sure to keep an eye out for that if you are interested!

I don't own many designer jeans but I am a HUGE fan of Genetic Denim. They are pricey but for me, worth every penny! Extremely comfortable and wash/wear incredibly well. I only have about 3 pairs (two of which were purchased this year) but I can't imagine loving a jean more than these. I hope to invest in a few more at some point.

Both my sweater and layering tank are from Forever 21. The tank came as part of another shirt that I separated and the sweater was under $20. I purchased it in Vegas and I think it may actually be a bathing suit cover up? I found it in the swimsuit section.

Luckily I had a necklace to match and to help tie the whole thing together!
I like the idea of having the 3 points/levels of the green.

Thanks so much for reading : )

I'm so happy to be able to throw in a fashion post finally!

I've been wanting to but sometimes it's tough when you are your own camera woman. (For the pic of me I actually took a video and then a screen shot to get this....and I actually WAS on the phone. lol. It ended up being the best/most casual shot I had.)

As spring and summer approches I'm sure I will have more Outfit posts as well some general fashion stuff - favorites, new pieces, etc.

I'm looking forward to it!

Till then....

I will talk to you soon,
Holly

[Beauty] Tryst Lacquers : Liaison in London : Fresh Paint and New Polishes

Hiç yorum yok
3 Coats of Tryst Lacquers - Liaison in London

So this is a very special Fresh Paint Post.

The polish I am using today is from Tryst Lacquers which is a new/up and coming brand hand done and created by Kimberly Maranan

Okay story time:
So I actually found Kimberly when she commented on one of my nail posts via Instagram.
I was intrigued by her thumbnail and was like 'hmm I wonder if those are her nails or if it's something she grabbed off the internet' - *proceed to clicking user account*

Oh Em Gee - They're hers!

BEST

The color I used today is called Liaison in London -

medium dusty red jelly-creme base filled with tiny black and white hex glitter.
3 thin coats to full opacity, but can be used layered over various other polishes to create different and exciting new looks.

3-free and hand-blended

--------

I actually saw this on my friend Sam (Saaammage) and loved it on her!

In these photos I used 3 coats of the polish but you could easily just use two. It was my first time trying these so I was testing it out.

Finished off with a fast drying top coat, Seche Vite.

If you follow me on Instagram or are a regular reader of my blog you have probably seen me mention her in the past. Her and I talk back and forth and she very sweetly sent me some of the polishes she makes (MAKES...blows my mind!) - as well as a ridiculously good coffee flavored chocolate bar(?) thing that I've never seen/had before.
(I don't think it's sold here in the US (She's from Canada))

They are all beautiful and I can't wait to try them all out!

Be sure to keep an eye out for them in future 'Fresh Paint' Posts!

Tryst Lacquers are available through Kimberly's Site or Etsy Shop if you are interested.

Thank you all for reading!

I hope you've enjoyed this post : )

A litte me update for those interested:
Sorry I haven't had a video up yet - I fell off the wagon with my sleep schedule again and am really trying to fix it >_< I am also working hard to do a little spring cleaning in my apt AND my little brother is coming back again for a visit - TODAY! ^_^ I'm so excited and happy! (my family lives in Connecticut if you didn't know)

Lastly - I was eating pretty much a vegetarian diet the last week and a half which included a lot of soy products to supplement (normally I don't have soy products because I use to be allergic to it - now I can have soy sauce etc. but I was still not having it in large quantities (which is fine I heard too much isn't good for you anyway) but I am definitely having a reaction to it and just was not feeling great not to mention it messed with my skin. (I mean not bad enough where it will show on camera but I've been trying to take it easy, not wear makeup etc.)

For those wondering I'm not currently trying to go vegetarian (I've tried in the past and it has not worked out for me. Not liking vegetables and being allergic to soy really puts a damper on it lol) BUT I have been wanting to try to eat a bit healthier so I can feel (and look) better. Unfortunately a lot of the foods I had picked out happen to be soy based : \

boo.

If any of you have great tasting, not horrible for you, vegetarian recipes (that do not include beans) please share! It would be MUCH appreciated! (I know I can google to find recipes but I want something that is tried and true...by YOU!)

----------

Hope you guys don't mind the bit of personal chat - sometimes I don't know when to throw it in. I don't want to do a separate post only on personal stuff because that's probably really boring haha but I do like to update you all and my blog definitely has a more intimate crowd.

Thank you all for sticking with me.
Reading, following, commenting on my blog as well as watching, subscribing and supporting me on YouTube.

It does not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

Talk to you all very soon.

Love,
Holly

[Beauty]...Everybody's got a Dark Side.

(photo from hollyannaeree's Instagram)

"Everybody's got a dark side
Do you love me?
Can you love mine?
Nobody's a picture perfect
But we're worth it
You know that we're worth it..."
-Kelly Clarkson "Dark Side"

I posted this picture on my Instagram the other day and I thought I would let you know what I was wearing (Since I don't normally wear this type of makeup : )

Eyes:

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette (Here)
Maybelline EyeStudio Quad in 55 Smokey Night
Sugar Pill Loose Eyeshadow in Royal Sugar (Here)
Urban Decay Zero Eyeliner (Here)
(Urban Decay Perversion would be good too)

1. Using Naked 2 as my blending color I applied it to my crease with a fluffy brush.

2. Taking the Dark Blue from the Maybelline Smokey Night quad and using a patting motion I lightly packed the color onto my lid up to the crease (top of the eye socket) - being careful not to use too much of a sweeping motion because the fall out is RIDICULOUS.

3. Again with my blending brush and no additional color lightly blurred the edges.

4. With the same blending brush I lightly dipped into Crave and applied to the outer corner and blended.

5. Taking a freshly sharpened ZERO (any black eyeliner will work) I applied to my waterline, tight line and also top lash line creating a bit of a cat eye.
(I used a dark brown for my bottom lash line but used black in the waterline - it's not noticeable in photos but I think it makes a difference in person especially if you have naturally dark eyes like me. I usually use Urban Decay Whisky or Milani Liquifeye in Brown. You can see this done in many of my video tutorials.)

6. I applied Venus with a flat shader brush to my brow bone as well as the inner part of my eye as a highlight and blended down.

7. Grabbing some Sugar Pill Royal Sugar Loose Eyeshadow with my finger I dapped it on the center of my lid and also used it along the beginning part of my lower lash line (finishing off the tail of the lower lash line with the brown eyeliner and some of the Navy Blue color from the Maybelline palette) again being careful of fall out.

8. Relined my top lash line with ZERO to cover any of the excess blue that may have gotten onto my original line.

9. Finished off with mascara (lashes are optional)

(photo from hollyannaeree's Instagram)

Sounds like a lot of work but since it's not very structured or precise it was actually rather quick.

Both my boyfriend and I really enjoyed this look! The depth of the two different blue colors and the subtle sparkle when the light hit just right was quite pretty.
It's always fun to play around with something different.

Don't be afraid to channel your inner D A R K  S I D E ; )

Talk to you soon!

[Beauty] Milani Texture Cream Nail Polishes - Limited Edition - Review and Swatches

Hiç yorum yok

So excited about these NEW Limited Edition TEXTURE Polishes from Milani!

Described as a Bright, vibrant crème nail lacquer with a textured, matte finish.

(It says top coat optional but I think it looks better without and lasts just as long as my regular polishes.)

Comes in SIX Colors:

901- Tainted in Red - and Orange Red Matte
902 - Spoiled in Fuchsia - Fuchsia Matte
903 - Aqua Splash
904 Yellow Mark
905 - Purple Streak - Dark Purple Matte
906 -Shady Gray - Deep Gray Matte

So far Tainted in Red is my FAVORITE! (Shown Below)

I always find these Bright Red/Orange colors to be flattering on my skin tone and just beautiful for Spring/Summer.

Fresh and Retro at the same time!

I surprisingly really like the "textured" look - I didn't think I would but the granules are fine enough to keep the look crisp and neat while still adding a hip twist to a matte finish.

(I would NOT like this polish if it did not have a matte finish.)

It's also super easy to apply! It goes on a bit watery/thin which allows you to get a great, even coat. (I would suggest doing two coats) This also makes the polish fairly fast drying plus with no need for a top coat it's a very quick and easy manicure.

Upon initial application it doesn't look much different than a regular polish, it's not until it starts to dry down where you will see all of the texture happen.

One of my favorite parts - The finish makes touch ups SUPER easy! Since it's not a glossy finish if you make a mistake or get a chip it's easy enough to just apply a little more polish, let it dry and your touch up will be seamless!
It let's me keep my manicure even longer!

Overall the polish did pretty well for me - 4 days before I got any type of chips (and I think that was just because I was doing a lot housework) which I think is really good especially considering I didn't use a top coat.

Removal was surprisingly easy. Requires a little more time than a normal polish (which is to be expected) but less difficult to remove than a glitter polish.

I definitely plan on making these fun polishes a staple this Spring/Summer!

Retail $4.99

Can be purchased on milanicosmetics.com

Thanks so much for reading! Hope you've enjoyed : )

Talk to you all very soon!
